New KRP-600M - buzzing noise - normal or not?

Just got my first plasma set - Pioneer KRP-600M delivered and set up and immediately noticed a buzzing noise coming from the unit. Hard to say where its coming from but it comes & goes in intensity with whats one screen. The store says some degree of buzz etc is normal with flat panel displays. Is this true or may I have a dodgy unit? Is this something which occurs with new sets & settles down?

My 428xd buzzes depending on whats on screen, bees, wasps, hornets, etc, but I rarely notice it when the sounds on. Only sometimes in the morning when the volume is down.

Thanks mate - watched my first bluray last night - absolutely amazing - and I didnt notice the buzzing once it got going. Have to see how it goes.

I went into a few stores today to check against mine and it seems that even in quiet conditions the store models were nowhere near as loud as the buzzing on mine - seems to be a lot of others having this problem too:- http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1044254
Following some of the advice in that thread if I select Power Save Mode2 the sounds is pretty much gone though for such an expensive set, I dont really think this is acceptable.

Going to talk to Pioneer on Monday.

To follow up on this - Pioneer sent an engineer out and promptly replaced this set agreeing that the buzzing was at unacceptable levels. Excellent service - just hope that this one is going to remain quiet when it warms up. Out of the box it is much quieter than the last - I can still hear the buzzing but accept that at this stage I'm listening for it so will see how it goes over the next day or so.
