Linn no longer makes dedicated CD players, as for Naim, they only have a "budget" one.

I see Linn still making upgrades to the LP12, Naim introducing a new turntable, and you tell us the future is CD? Streaming and vinyl records are the way ahead, just go into your local HMV and look at the choice of physical audio media.

CD still outsells vinyl in numerical terms. And the piece at no point states that CD is the future.

Having read this, I am puzzled. The third player in the test, the Naim, gets three stars for features, marked down for lack of digital outputs and upgrade path. The fourth player, the second Cyrus, has both of these but still gets three stars. I see no reason why that makes sense, personally.
