The magazine refers to the Linn LP12 as the first belt driven suspended sub-chassis turntable on the market in 1973. This is incorrect as I have a Thorens TD 160BC turntable which is exactly that, bought before 1973 and it had been available for some time before that. It seems that several manufacturers then decided it was a good design (Systemdek and Ariston to name but two as well as Linn) and brought out their own versions of this type.
