SERIE E
For more than 100 years, the Goldring philosophy has been to promote the precise replication of the original recording, maintaining the creative nuances, musicality and rhythm that the artist intended for you to hear. With the E series, this is achieved with the three capsules in the range that have been designed to capture this musical experience when used with the medium to high arms that we find on most turntables of a reasonable price level.
All capsules in the range are based on Magnetic DuplexTM technology, which achieves a more accurate stereo reading. With spherical needles and choice of cantilevers, the E1 and E2 models are ideal as an upgrade to any obsolete or low-end capsule. The E3 model, with its perfected elliptical needle, is a valuable improvement for those who want to extract all the information and detail possible from the grooves of the vinyls.
SPECIAL FEATURES
Magnetic DuplexTM Technology
During the recording mastering process, the cutting tool records stereo information as a V-shaped groove that has perpendicular walls at a 45-degree angle. Conventional mobile magnet capsules use a single large magnet that interacts with two coils mounted vertically to produce the stereo signal from the groove. This can introduce crosstalk and only offers a modest amount of stereo separation.
The Goldring E-Series capsules have a special double-magnet arrangement. Magnetic DuplexTM technology uses two low-mass magnets that interact only with their corresponding pickup coil. This allows the capsules to follow the groove of the disc more accurately, since they emulate the geometry of the cutting head, obtaining a better stereo separation and a more precise, surround and musical sound scene.
Expert Adjustment
The horizontal reading angle of the needle (azimuth) should be parallel to the vinyl for optimum performance. An incorrectly adjusted azimuth results in an unbalanced balance, an increase in crosstalk and a serious degradation of the stereo sound scene. This is a parameter that can rarely be adjusted by the user, so it is vital that each capsule comes out of the factory with precisely adjusted azimuth.
The E-Series capsules use an adjustment screw specially designed to locate the cantilever, instead of a standard pin, allowing microscopic adjustments during production. This pre-set azimuth implies that the crosstalk is optimized and can install the capsule on any turntable without making corrections.
