I am looking for a pair of bookshelf speakers to fit in a relatively small space. They need to be no larger than 30cm high!

I have a pair of KEF Q10s which sound good enough for the size of the room. However they are physically too big for the space. Therefore I'm looking for a smaller alternative that sound as good or better than the Kef Q10s.

My budget is £300 max.

The Q 2020is look great and are relatively cheap. Could anyone comment on how they might sound compared to the KEF q10s?!

Any other suggestions please?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Obvious answer are the KEF Q100 's, but they rrp £380. Sometimes KEF have a 20% off offer or trade in. Have a look around, or even a look on the second hand market which is how I got my pair (£225).

Even more obvious answer would be the Tannoy DC4. Terrific in smaller rooms, really delightful sound quality up close and if you can give them around two feet out from the wall, you'll be happy. Have to say I love mine and they're bang on your budget. Music is effortless through them, nicely controlled bass, not light at all as some reviews suggest and a very good hold on a track. Really lets you see into the track. Can't recommend them enough I have to say. And the finish is very high order indeed.

Cheaper, so in budget, smaller design, just as capable from an audio perspective.

My suggestion was due to the fact he uses KEF speakers already...so the 'obvious answer' was to suggest the speaker from the newer, replacement KEF range.

Not saying your suggestion is a bad one...in fact it's a very good one as they both use similar technologies. It's just that I can't see how a set of Tannoy speakers would be an 'even more obvious answer' than replacing old range for new range from the same company? :?
