New CD player - suggestions please

Current system:

Meridian 206 CD - Trichord modified (clock & output stages)

Meridian 203 DAC 

Naim NAC92/2 x NAP90.3/Flat Cap amplification

B&W P5 loudpseakers

The CD set up is now about 17 years old and is starting to show its age - I still enjoy listening to music with it but it's starting to have reliability issues. I think I have had my money's worth!

I'm thinking of replacing the CD and would be interested to hear suggestions - approx. £2k budget. Musical tastes are extremely eclectic.

Current Meridian kit doesn't seem to feature in the mag reviews much. Will clearly need to find a good dealer (bought pretty much everything from Audio Excellence but the Glos shop now long gone).

Oooooooo, 2 Grand just on a CD player, yum...

Gotta try out the Cyrus CDxtse and DAC X combo - within budget... contrast that with the Primare CD31 at the other end of the presentation scale and see which you prefer...
