iv just today got my new leema pulse and have been blown away with the sound quality the tight bass and detailed sound is amazing ,however i was listening on headphone when i turned of the sound and notice a humming sound from the headphones it also comes from the speakers when headphonnes are disconected. i have unpluged all other av equipment no change also disconected it from cdp its not loud but is strange never heard it before on and previous amps any ideas???

It dosen't sound it.

Did you have the same problems with the old amp?

It could be one of the rare occasions there is a problem with the new amp. If thats the case i would contact dealer you bought it from and try and resolve it that way.

It should'nt be but unfortunately it is. Blame is often appointed to the mains but to be honest and in my opinion, a well designed power supply in an amp should cope with this. Funny that most far eastern manufacturers manage to make amps that don't hum ...

That much for specialist brands that pay anal attention to circuit-lay-out, component quality etc etc though this does'nt of course apply to each and every one. Bad quality control imo. Return it.

Worth following up. My amp buzzes when I put my ear to the tweeter and it still sounds superb. It's normal for some amps and you can't hear it in the music (at least I can't).

Agree with igglebert about following it up. I,ve just tested my amp, put all the system on, turned volume up full without playing music, put my ear to the speaker and could not hear a single noise.

this is with the sound off completly ,sounds like interference to me iv isolated it no speakers or cd ect and used the headphones and it still does it.iv talked to the shop who spoke to leema they say they have never heard of this problem but they have said they will swop it for another one .just hope this proccess is nice and straight forward as i love the sound it producing minus the hum

earthing is fine im an electrical engineer so iv checked all that.i moved the amp around the house to other power points but still no change. we will see when the new one turns up if it still does it hopefully not

Try some shielded interconnects, I had the same problem and turned out my hot water pipes that run behind a false wall were playing havoc with my unshielded interconnect and gave me a hum. I swapped cable and problem was gone!
