New amp choice

Hi

Im looking to buy a new amp to replace my sTR-DH800. Was looking at the DH820 because of the 3d support and upscaling. And I know from the 800 it's got a good sound.

Are there any other choices I should look at from other makes that does the same etc?

If you can push towards the £500 region amps, you'll get more of an upgrade in sound over your current amp rather than just extra functionality.

You might be able to find run out stock of Onkyo 608s for nearer your budget if you can't stretch to a new 609.

On a small budget the Onkyo 509 would be an alternative offering similar functions.

Hi

Im using Bowers and wilkins 601 S3s.

Ive managed to grab a Denon 1911 for £170 on ebay! Did think of the 1912, but the extras it gives I dont need it, like Airplay, which I have a Apple Airport Express etc.

1911 will be better than my Sony DH800 right?

The Onkyo TX-SR608 is currently available at £249 if you do a google search, is 3d compatable, 7.2 and feature rich, as well as having a decent sound. Worth a look.
