Hi all,

I'm on the lookout for a new 5.1 speaker setup. Don't need a sub at this stage but already have one. Using the good old Sony STR D800 amp and some pretty average Sony 'out the box' speakers and would look to upgrade.

I fancy floorstanding L & R, and don't want to spend more than £500... What do you lot think would be the best/most suitable setup for the money?

Thanks in advance.

S.

One of the Q acoustics 5.1 systems would be your best option around your price bracket.

You've also got the Tannoy HTS 101 system which is very good but you have to drive a bit of welly through them to work them well.

What about the Jamo S 426HCS3 5.1 speaker system?

Like I say, I don't need a sub and for £300 (less if you shop around) they are a bit of a bargain?
