Looking for a nice new TV.

Not bothered about 3d - we watch a lot of Movies, and so will be hooked up to to a surround sound system. Just looking for a really good picture for movies and sports. And it must 'look nice!'

Mrs is in love with the Samsung 46C8000 (cant afford the D) - it looks like a lovely set. But its very top end of budget, esp when I look at the 2 sets below.

I was looking at the Sony KDL46EX503 (the 40 seemed to be like a very good buy) - the 46 incher is available around 650 quid currently.

I have just found the higher specced 46HX803 for £799 including a 5 year warranty.

Has anybody tried these sets - and whats the view of the 803 is it a lot better than the 503 in terms of picture quality?

Any other you'd recommend a look at?

thanks

Hi Tom

Yes, in my view the Sony 46hx803 is a lot better than the 503, you also have the 200hz on the 803 and only 100hz on the 503, this makes a big difference. The 803 also works great for movies and sports, i watch a lot of tennis and football and it is fantastic to watch them on.

I have the KDL46EX503 and think it`s great..I`d think it was even better at the price you quoted, mine cost £150 more just 7 months ago.

If I had the money I`d buy another to use as a second set

I am currently in the same dilema but looked at one of the pannasonic sets which looked good just can't remember the model number. Any thoughts on these.
