Need help

Hi, i'm newbie...I bought Marantzpm6003, I currently have it hooked up to Marantz 5001 CD and Epos M 12.2(not i) speakers,VDH d102 IC,Chord Carnival Silverplus Speaker cable. The sound is very bright, Bombing Bass, the mid is'nt good;
What wrong with my system..?

Before Pm6003, I drive my system with Cambridge Audio 640 a, V2. The sound much better but not good low end (not punch)..bright too..at high..

Booming bass sounds like an issue of how the speakers are interacting with the room. So as Joel says you need to give a few details about the size/layout and speaker positioning within your room. Even if your speakers are in the same position as they were before, then switching to an amp with different bass characteristics may have revealed the issue, and to be honest the issues you had with the old amp could well be about positioning to some extent.

This is something I've had a lot of issues with myself, but the good news is that even small changes in position can make a big difference.

you could try swapping the silver speaker cables for pure copper. might give a small improvement but it sounds like your amp and speakers just dont gel properly.
