need a new cd player

i have the Onkyo TX-SR505E multichannel receiver and am looking for a CD player to match it. could anyone sugest anything? thanks.

Asmore, with your receiver being used as your amp for cd purposes, you will not get as good sound as you would using a designated stereo amp. Therefore, do not spend much on your cdp. I would look at the budget Marantz, Cambridge Audio and maybe Sony cd players. Go second hand and don't spend more than £100.

I agree with Frog, your dvd player will probably give you a similar sound through your receiver. The Onkyo cdp would be wasted a little in my opinion.

Some alternatives, depending on your budget, so apologies for making any presumption here, but NAD C515BEE at £159 or Cambridge Audio 340C for around £150 are two to consider.

If that's a little too high, Tangent have their CDP100 player which is about £80. Don't pooh-pooh this too much; Tangent enjoy a decent reputation and produce some good products for the smaller budget, so this one might be worth a listen.
