I just replaced my Epos Epic 2 speakers with a pair of PMC Twenty.22 speakers.

Compared with the Epos speakers, the PMC have a very lean bass. The Epos speakers have a tight, deep and powerful bass while the PMC have a tight, not very deep and not very powerful bass. Is this normal?

My speakers are about 20 cm from the back wall on a cabinet placed on Auralex Propad monitor isolation pads. Speaker cable is Chord carnival silver screen.

Whilst the PMC Twenty series doesn't lack bass depth for their size, they will come across as a little bass light in comparison to other speakers. Some speakers will sound like they have a lot of bass because of various distortions or colorations.

Did you audition the PMCs before buying them?

Thanks for the feedback. I did audition the PMCs before buying them.

In the meantime things have changed. The PMCs have been playing music in the background for about 20 hours and i have to say there is a significant change in sound quality now. The sound is more open, better layered with more detail and the bass depth and quality is great now. The speakers were stored in a colder location and were probably not used the last weeks/months.

Either way, i am VERY happy with the result.
