Having been an owner of many a NAD product over the last 22 years I've NEVER had to return any items or have any fixed!
bully for you

Just becasue YOU have 'fixed' some or had issues with some doesnt make it a fact that NAD are poorly made!

It's like any electrical item; things DO and WILL break at times; that's life!

I service & repair many different amplifiers, I am simply pointing out my observation which is what the forum is about I believe. Conversely just because you have owned a couple of pieces of NAD equipment which have been fine, doesn't mean they the greatest thing since sliced bread.

You are obviously speaking from a more knowledgeable position than some of the rest of us ,so from your observations , have you had to repair significantly more NADs than other makes , or are the other makes that you have had more to repair ? Have you had to repair newer models sooner than one might hope and expect to ? Do you think that many of the NADs built today will still be around in 30 years like some of the first ones they built ?

Just trying to gauge how bad they may , or may not be , compared to other brands .

I never had any problem with Nad amplifiers in fact I have an old NAD 302 that I have owned for many years in my workshop that is used everyday and it has never missed a beat .

The the most unreliable and disappointing piece of HiFi equipment I have ever owned has been a NAD M55 universal disc player .

It never worked properly from day one and even after several returns under warranty and software upgrades it never performed properly . Now the warranty has run out it has stopped reading any discs again and I just can't be bothered to do anything with it now so it sits in the loft in it's box , what a waste of money. |(

I have a C315BEE amp and a C515BEE that I bought 1 year ago.

The amp sounds mono at very low volume I sent it to a NAD service center, they “changed” the speaker relays, sent it back to me and it sounds the same. Eggontoast recommended me some attenuators and that solved the problem (thanks again).

The C515BEE CD stop button does not work quite well, sometimes I have to press it more than once to stop the CD.

I may say that they sound beautifully but I´m not happy with the service or reliability.

I used to own a Nad C370..I believe this was one of the first models they started manufacturing in China. The sound was stupendous however the amp failed after a few years of moderate usage. I brought it to a specialised repair technician, he opened it and found the overall level of design and the choice of components appalling. Very cheap capacitors, very poor layout. He actually couldn't believe his eyes, given that NAD had been such a reputable brand earlier.
