I've recently purchased a pair of B&W 683 speakers and a Nad C356BEE (rated 80 watts). I use a Brennan JB7 connected to the amp using a QED Reference J2P cable. My previous amp (2 days ago) was an old Denon PMA 250 iii and was rated 30 watts. My question is this: How is it that the Denon is so much louder than the Nad. The Nad has a better sound overall and suits the 683's very well, but I was expecting a bit more power from the Nad. Who's watt measurements are correct? If I bought a 150 watt amp, who's to say it won't be the same as the Nad?Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
