Hello,

I want to replace my Q Acoustics M20 HD because they have only one optical input (using a splitter now) and doesn’t have an auto sense (wake up from standby when a signal is detected). The second is quite a big deal for me, and switching to NAD and a new pair of speakers compatible with my stands (the 3030c) would solve.
I just wonder if there are other amps you can suggest and can consider in alternative to the NAD D 3045 with:
  • 2 optical inputs
  • Auto sense mode (wake up from standby mode when it detects an active source input)
Thanks in advance.

Are you fixed on using optical? HDMI is probably a better way to connect to a TV
If you use HDMI arc, not only will the amp come on when you turn the TV on, but you will be able to control the volume from the TV remote.

Absolutely not fixed and thanks for sharing this, I mentioned the optical input because I read about the TV connect capability offered by that Nad

If there are other better amps with a similar price with one optical and one hdmi arc feel free to let me know… I am investigating as well.
Thanks!

Back to your original question, the Marantz PM6007 has two optical inputs. Normally a little more expensive then the NAD, but on sale at the moment. Id doesn't have HDMI input, probably for a couple of reasons, the design has been around a few years. The other is that Marantz are also into AV systems, and probably don't what to muddy the waters with too much product crossover. On that subject, the Marantz Stereo 70 is essentially an AV receiver but stereo rather than multi channel. It only has one optical in, but it has seven HDMI in. More expensive than the NAD and the PM6007, but higher specked.
