Has anyone listened to one yet, or seen a review? Is it worth the extra couple of hundred quid over a C545BEE?

One of the key features I would like to have, and which my 545 doesn't have, is that 565 has some optical or coaxial (not sure) inputs so that the player could be used as a dac for a PC or anything with a digital out.
Yep carn't wait for this one as it is still reasonably priced and has upgrades inside the box over the 545 plus that digital in is a big advantage . be good to compare it to a 'dacmagic'
Ordered one today. Being shipped to me tomorrow. Should have it Monday. I'll post some comments next week after a few hours of listening...
I've got the C545 now which is excellent. The C565 is very different technology, so this is a rubbish shoot, but based on specs and features the 565 should be quite good...

very interested in your review as i have the same amp as you and similar but older cdp..Its that digital in thats attracting me to this 565 as in auz the price difference between 545/565 is only AU$300 and im sure it would upgrade itunes from the imac.

Well, I've done what I said I wouldn't - I've ordered one on faith.
The retailer I bought my headphone amp from had an ex-demo at a price I couldn't resist. Hopefully I'll have it early next week. Can't wait!

Well, it turned up on Friday! Less than 24 hours after I ordered it, pretty impressive. Not a great beauty but it's a classy piece of kit, reassuringly heavy and seems solidly put together.
Straight out of the box it sounded better than my old Sony - no surprise there. I haven't had time for an extended listen and it's still bedding in, but first impressions after four hours on repeat were very good indeed.

Hope you enjoy it! Please let us know how it performs as a DAC, if you happen to connect an external source with an optical output to it.
Clare and all. It seems I'm on the same page as many. The attraction of the C565 is getting a nice CD player + ability to upgrade the DAC on other gear - a CD mega player in my case which has an optical output to nicely go with the input on this NAD. Can you please make it a point to comment on the C565 as a DAC as well as a stand-alone player. Virtually no reviews online for this product so we're anxiously awaiting yours.
