Greetings,

I recently purchased the NAD C355BEE Amp.

So far I've been unable to locate Pure Copper Spades for the Speaker Terminals.

Tried QED's & NGEN already, but they turned out to be the wrong size. The spade portions were too thick & the overall width too wide.

NAD says their terminals take 6mm spades or 4mm banana plugs.

But I can't see where a banana plug would fit since there's no opening for it.

Has anybody here solved this annoying problem?

I would appreciate some hints or signposts.

Thx folks.

What's making you want to use spades instead of banana plugs?

Here are some spades: http://www.audiodestination.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=11_140&products_id=1983

Thanks for your replies.

I should've given a more detailed description of the terminals.

Here's a pic >>> http://i44.tinypic.com/n1wmd1.jpg

As you can see, the terminals are of the enclosed type.

That's the annoying bit, and the reasonÿwhy I couldn't get the QED's or NGen's to fit.

The Furutech's or QED's you suggested are 12.9mm wide and would present me with the same problem, namely the spade portion being too wide and probably too thick as well.

As far as Banana Plugs go; unfortunately there's no opening for them. Hard to believe but true.

Is this for connections to the NAD amp?

If so I've the same amp and I use banana plugs!

You need to remove the bungs that are in the hole where the plug goes; use a sharp knife ot thin screwdriver to get under the lip of the bung and then ease them out

Can you explain what bungs?? I simply unscrewed the clamps as far as they would go and put the banana plugs into them, verticaly...Id love to know if Iv somehow done it wrong.

dqn1979 has it right. There's small plastic bungs in each terminal. Prise them out with a screwdriver or fingernails.

It's a small, colour coded plastic cap that goes in at the end of the terminal.

Just remove this by using a sharp blade that you can slid under it and then it'll just pop out
