hi guys so i just bought this amp £160 ex dispaly mint condition think i got a bargain what do you think ?

well i did buy a marantz pm6004 which i did not like the sound of to clinical for my tastes.then researched amps that have the old school smooth sound and came across this great reviews and most say its a smooth sounding amp so cant wait till monday when it arrives 🙂

Ken Kessler once waxed lyrically about it. Whilst he is prone to exhageration and over-exitement at times it normally takes at least quadrupel figure items to get him going, better even higher from the likes of D'Agostini, Krell, Mcintosh, Sonus Faber etc.

If I remember right, the little Nad also measured decently.

Not a bad price I suppose as you will get a full warranty from the shop.

The C316BEE and its predecesor the C315BEE are both great amplifiers for the price only, your one is more reliable than its predecesor ;-)

I like NADs. Finding the right speakers are everything. My 326Bee, which is currently the amp in my workshop, is a great workhorse and sound at least okay all the time. But sometimes, when the speakers match perfectly, it really shines. No other amp I own can cover as much ground between ordinary and excellent with different speakers.

If you ever get a chance to listen to ProAc Studio 100s with your new amp, you should. My 326, at least, absolutely LOVED these speakers. They weren't mine and I don't need more kit, but I was tempted to buy a pair, just because the combination worked so well. It wasn't the bottom line in accuracy or transparency, but it made FUN music...I challenge you to play a song with that combo and not tap your foot.

thanks for the info will defo look at those speakers ill be using it with my modded microlab solo6c speakers which were active but ive made the active one passive.took the amp out and transfomer as the amp is not that good been using a little tri path ta2021b amp which sounds awesome ? so you can imagine how exicited i am at buying a solid state amp if i love my music now i think ill be in heaven when it arrives.i also lined the solo6c with acoustic damping material only back,top,bottom panel as with the sides lined aswell they did not seem as open and detailed.

I own the 316bee and i think it is really exceptional. It is not my most expensive amp but that i had but is the one that ticks more boxes for me. By the way I prefer it to the more expensive 326bee or other nad amplifiers that I heard or owned such as nad 3020, 326bee, 320beeor 352ct.

Ken Kessler! Not heard that name in a long time. I remember him raving about the original Cyrus One amp. Apparently he bought one as a back-up and stuffed it in a drawer in case one of his multi-thousand-pound Krells failed. That was 1984, or thereabouts. Anyway it seemed a very good recommendation to me!
