from reading this forum I know im very lucky that my wife is as interested in av as i am.however we are at loggerheads in the fact that shes all up for a 50in screen but i am sure our room is not big enough due to veiwing distances we only really sit 9ft from where the new tv will be sighted we currently watch on 32in crt. we have been av nuts since dvds introduction now its time for bluray and skyhd but I feel we will get better results from a 42in or 46in full hd tv.have already upgraded to denon avr1909 and sony bluray, just wondered if anybody else shares my concern or should i just make my life a hell of a lot easier and go with the 50.when posting replys please remember she will also read this..................cheers

Hi avnut, I had the same decision as you and your good lady,my viewing distance is just a bit better than yours so i was not sure what to do. A 46" or 50" well i opted for the 50" Pioneer and what a good choice, i thought 50" would be to over powering in the room but no you really do get use to it. Go on and spoil her give in go for the bigger version you will not be sorry.

Happy viewing.

Just get the smaller screen and tell her it is 50". I'm sure it's not the first time you have lied about how big an inch is..

(I know she is reading so apologies if I have 'let the cat out of the bag')

For BluRay and a 50" 1080p panel you want to sit 8ft or so away to appreciate the increased detail and get that cinematic experience.

Time to concede gracefully.
