My Old & New mix

Working from home today so I thought I'd get round to posting my bits & pieces.

I'm sure most of you will recognise the kit but, from the top, Project Xpression (upgraded) and with a Nagaoka MP-110, Marantz CD6000 OSE, Cyrus 2 (rejuvenated) + PSX, Denon DNP-720AE & Nakamichi CD2. Not shown are the speakers, a pair of Tannoy Revolution R3. Oh yeah, and an Arcam dock for the ipod. I use Chord Crimson interconnects and some unknown speaker wire, think it was originally from Tandy!

Looks great to me, Chris. Nice to see a cassette deck still in someone's HiFi rack (in fact a Nak Cassette Deck 2 no less), and the Nextel finish on your C2+PSX seems to be doing a great job of not going peely yet.

I wonder what you think of the display on the CD player Chris. I've got the KI version of the 6000 OSE (also in champagne gold), still looking and sounding as it did when I bought it 14 years ago.

The first thing I noticed though was how unusually dim the display was on mine. I wondered if it was actually faulty but not according to Marantz who confirmed that the brightness was not adjustable.

You've certainly got a nice mix of reliable kit there.

I've only got one! But there's also one for my better half and one for my daughter. *good*

I think the only upgrade I'd make (when funds allow) is to replace the Denon DNP-720 AE with a Pioneer N-50A, probably in silver.
