I have made some substantial changes to my setup since i last posted in this section so I have decided to post the changes as well some pictures of the new equipment i have in my new setup

starting off with my front speakers and what the equipment rack looks like

the front speakers are a pair of Cambridge Audio Aero 6

the centre channel speaker is a Cambridge Audio Aero 5

then to make the setup 7.1 I have two pairs of Cambridge Audio Aero 3 rear bipole speakers

one pair of these bipoles is on a set of homemade DIY stands ... like so

anf then this is what the rear setup looks like wiht the second pair of bipoles wall mounted behind my living room couch

continued from the previous post

the TV is an LG 50LA6210 3D capable LED

the rest of the rack comprises of the following

Under the centre speaker is a Pioneer BDP150 Blu-Ray player and below that is a Sony STR-DN1040 AV reciever to serve as amplification. To the right of the rack is a Sony SAW-ES70 dual 8" subwoofer and to the right is a Hewlett Packard Microserver N54L which has a Radeon HD6450 graphics card installed. The microserver functions as an HTPC and has a total of 8 gigs of ram and the upgraded graphics card also plays back 3D video. the additional hard drives in this and the other microservers in the network serve as network storage for all my music, movies and TV series that i have backed up to hard drive. This works much better than using the original optical discs since there are no loading time delays, especially for blu-Ray

All in all though there are 4 TV's and two microservers as well as a decent i5 PC (my main rig) in the network which is all connected up via wired Gigabit Lan. I will probably add some pictures of the other rooms in my network setup at a later stage (rather only the interesting ones)

EDIT : one last observation ie i still have to some work on hiding all the cabling and wiring and thats all still a work in progress so when that is completed i will probably post some pictures of how neat it finishes off but please excuse the mess that its in right now

Very nice system, is it a 7.1 ?

Thank you, and yes sir 7.1 for now, but i intend to add some ceiling speakers at a later stage and go 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos, and obviously I will have to upgrade the AV reciever as well in order to that. I will get to all of that when more Atmos content is available.

It works pretty decently well in stereo as well and even though dedicated stereo amplification is often better i think that this collection of bits does more than adequately well for me in stereo mode even though most of the speakers dont get used for that
