Thanks Lesmor.

The Acoustic Foam is from an online company called E FOAM, this hyperlink below will take you straight to the page http://www.efoam.co.uk/Segg.php . . . . . I chose to have the flat acoustic foam instead of the convoluted acoustic foam (the one that looks like an egg box) and to stick on the wall a nice long roll of double sided sticky tape from B&Q (25m £3.49). I had 7 foams in total in my room which is perfect for my room that measures (width 10ft Length 14ft). The foam was cut to (Width 50cm x Length 100cm x Thickness 4cm). Overall they really do work as the room use to echo and the sound would become mixed. The best thing is that they cost me £56.......

I was looking at GIK panels and bass traps costing near £1500.00 , your foam for £56.00 is a bargain if it works.

Did you cover the foam with material or is that the raw foam on show ?

They look nice and can be customised, quite steep on the price. When the room was empty, general conversation had an echo without even shouting. i suppose size of room and sofas tables etc fill out the room too. This foam is raw foam on show, it looks good i think because the room is painted in matt black. Do you have any images of your cinema.

me thinks you have made a lot of folks on the forum jealous as I bet most (me included) lust after a dedicated cinema room. looks fantastic by the way. Gongratulations.

Thanks you silly old man, haha i had to throw that one in. doing this cinema room was actually very simple, the hardest thing was smacking the brickwork out. i have been desperate for a dedicated cinema room for a couple of years. My only problem is getting my girlfriend out of there. If u have the space i would say do it as you never know what might happen tomorrow.

Well that raw foam looks well good, once I get setup and do some acoustic measurements I will consider foam as an alternative to glass fiber commercial panels

Just finishing off my room upgrade , redecorated and cables run in conduit moved a radiator configured a 7.2 setup ,so no photos as yet , might post if anyone was interested

Yes I have a bay window on one side and a large alcove on the other.

I was concerned about the alcove and did consider closing it off to make the room rectangular but after researching room acoustics it may not be such a bad thing , I'll know for sure once i do some frequency measurements

Watch this space for some pics in a week or 2
