Hi everyone, I'm currently looking at buying my first turntable and wondered if you could give me some advice?

The turntable i've chosen is the Project Essential 2, the speakers are Q Acoustics 2020i but my main question is about the amp, i was going to go for the Denon PMA520AE but i was wondering if i could go for the Cambridge Audio Azur 551P?

Does anyone have any experience with this amp and would it work ok with that turntable and those speakers. Any help or advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

I think that the Cambridge Audio Azur is a preamp phono stage and so it would not be suitable. The Denon is a good amp and would do the job nicely. Personally I would buy a Marantz PM5005.

I pleased to be of help, but there are many people on this forum much more knowledgable than me on the subject of HiFi. Hopefully Al Ears will give you his opinion.

I agree with Antaxon's post but would suggest the Denon PMA-720AE would be a better buy for around the same money. I haven't heard the Marantz but have heard one's higher up the chain.

Thank you both for your advice, decided to go with the Denon PMA720AE Amp as it was a little bit cheaper than the Marantz
