Have been watching bbc hd on virgin on my pani px80 42" and to be honest I cant see a great deaI of difference. I know the tv upscaIes SD anyway so is this why I am not noticing much difference?. WiII I see a big difference if i get bIu ray? ExampIes of programs watched are wiIdIife ones and few entertainment shows Iike Iater.. and Jonathan ross show.

Well what i understand is that the HD TV is 720p so you still have some upsacling being done by the TV while with BD you will have no TV upscaling.

Have fun the sound will be much better.

Plus dont forget that not every programme is shown in HD ... just because it is a HD channel doesnt mean that the programme is shown in high def; this might be the reason why the picture looks exactly the same as standard def.

I know on sky, if you press the 'i' button it will tell you if that paticular programme is HD - not sure about virgin though ?
