Musical Fidelity X-LP still worth a punt?

Hi, Looking for a decent phono stage and wondered if the MF X-lps is still a good buy for £100? I have the CA 640p at the moment and it's ok (ish) I'd like something a bit punchier and forward. I'm really stuck around the £100 mark at the moment, although i could probably go to about £160 in a week or two! (just bought a MF M1 dac and Cyrus 8 so i'm a bit skint! ) I know i could send the 640p away for modding, but i'm not really sure i could be bothered with the messing around. Any ideas on any others?

Can't comment on the others, but if you find yourself able to stretch to the Rega Fono MkII at £198 it's a belting bit of kit for the money. I've only compared it to the Fono Mini and a Project whose name escapes me, but it was streets ahead.
