Hello,
Are there any MF Encore Connect users out there who wouldn't mind sharing their thoughts on the product in terms of sound, usability etc.
Is the DAC shared with any other MF product or is it 'new'?
Thanks in advance.

According to this it uses the Burr Brown PCM1795 chip...

..But according to this it uses the Burr Brown PCM5242...

I think the second one is more likely to be correct, as it fits the published specs. I have no idea which other Musical Fidelity products might be using this part.

I have not heard the Encore Connect, but I did take an Encore 225 in trade a little while back, which shares many of the same parts. I thought it sounded pretty good. The software was not quite the equal of some alternatives, but Musical Fidelity pushed out a major update just as I sold mine, which I know brought a number of improvements. Like I said, I have not tried the Encore Connect, but I suspect that there are two box options which would provide the same features but with even better sound quality.

Thanks SS.
Which 2 box combo would you go for that offers a better sound?
I want to reduce my box count and I thought the MF connect ticked all the boxes - streamer, ripper, storage and DAC. I'm keen to keep my amp .... Unless convinced otherwise.
