Hi folks,

I have recently entered the scene after a long abscence and decided to see what i could get for my money these days with the Onkyo 605 and Tannoy F1 set up. As a cinema system i am delighted (thanks What HiFi) but not satisfied when i play music through it. I have since upgraded the front end with F4's (Pre-empting the review!) Excellent improvement but still not happy! Even though my 605 is only four months old, the 875 is now a real bargain, would i notice a significant improvement in the musical side of things? I am sure there must be a few others out there who have already swapped or also considering it. Many thanks for all replies.

IMHO, and having used both units, I think you'd notice a significant improvement. But I'd urge you to have a serious listen before taking the plunge.

I will second Andrew's advice. I should know as I bought the 606 then swapped it over for the 875 for the same reasons you state. Definately better at playing tune, and it has burr brown dac's which are renowned for good quality. I love it although it has made me want to upgrade my speakers now...dammit!

Thanks
