Question Music Server for QNAP?

Hi all...!

I have a QNAP TS-453A server and use Illustrate dBpoweramp Asset as my music server to feed into my Cambridge CXN (V2) player. This works fine but it does have a couple of quirks - particularly in relation to its unalterable menu system.

Can anyone offer any alternatives?

Being on a pension, I'm not interested in subscription based apps (e.g. Roon) but am willing to pay for a good system...

Have a look in the QNAP App store as they normally have a selection, including there own Music Station which should do for most users.

What is wrong with Qnap's own Music Station?
You might try MinimServer. There is a package for the Qnap.

I have indeed looked at the QNAP app store and tried out MusicStation, Plex, Kodi, etc. and found them all a pain to use particularly as I have a large number of compilations... That said, I have been updating and reorganising my meta-data and tags so one of these may deserve a re-visit.

I may even try Minimserver again... (I'm really hopeless when it comes to Linux though...) So configuring it is going to be an exercise in study and patience - both of which are in short supply...
