Music for the Easter weekend

It's become a bit of an annual ritual here; Classic FM Hall of Fame. Starts tomorrow (Good Friday) at 9:0am and finishes Easter Monday around 7:00pm. We always dip in and out throughout the 300 top classics and they've all been voted for. If you've got some time to spare, light a fire (we usually need one here), open a good bottle (or two) of wine/beer and relax with some great music. Adverts can be a pain and the reason we don't listen to Classic FM too often but Easter weekend is an exception.

For anyone not a classical music fan, also try Bach's St Matthew's Passion and Handel's Messiah. Incredible stuff!

As soon as I saw your header I thought of the St Matthew's Passion. I guess Mahler's symphony no 2 has to be up there as well?

Thanks. Just listened to it on Tidal. Excellent choice.

I'm not too familiar with the piece but my knowledge of classical is not extensive. My better half's much better though. When I mentioned it, she knew straight away. Mind you, she also remembers playing it! Something about off stage trumpets?

The Classic FM Hall of Fame has started. Beethoven already made an appearance with much more to come.
