Music CD. Through HDMI or Stereo Phono ?

My plan is to purchase the new Pioneer SC-LX85 alon with the new Pioner BDP-LX55 Blu Ray player - I will be sing the blu ray player as my CD player also. I will obviously be connecting this up to my Amp via HDMI for Movies/DVD/Blu-Ray. But wondered if I should Connect Stereo Phono Cables to the Amp for CD music using a dedocated 'CD' input on my Amp....

I suppose this is down to the quality of the DAC's on the Blu Ray player Vs the DACs on the AMP. Would anyone know the answer to this ?

Yes, it would be down to the dac of the player and the analogue inputs of the receiver vs the player as transport only. But you would not use stereo phono as that would only be 2 channel...

Which would be fine for stereo music from a CD.

As for the original question, I'd try both and see which you prefer.
