Multimedia streamer but not as irritating as Apple TV

I wonder whether anyone can suggest a multimedia streamer for HD video (1080p) and lossless audio. I had a look at Apple TV which could have been the ideal solution if it didn't have p*** poor support for common video formats or if it supported 1080p resolution. The Popcorn Hour C-200 is one option. I already decided against the HD Digitech HDX-1000 because of poor reviews of its digital audio quality.

Fumanchu:I was under the impression both the ATV and Mini supported 1080p...Thanks Fumanchu for your post. Unfortunately, Apple TV won't play 1080p video files . Specs on Apple site say: maximum resolution: 1280 by 720 pixels at 24 fps. There is also a file size limit of 4 o5 5 gig.
Apple Mini will play 1080p but that present another problem. I want to have my Apple Mini connected to my A/V receiver for HD video and to the DAC for Stereo music. The Mini can't do that as far as I can see because it has only one digital audio output. Any further feedback is most welcome
