Im not hoping to debate the merits of whether they work or not but had a couple of questions.
Currently Im just using the power cables that came with equipment with a standby-saver 6-way extension. I have a Harmony One remote so that when I power down it switches everything off at the plug bar SkyHD. I would like to get a mains conditioner, Tacima etc, but would still like to retain the ability to switch stuff off at the plug with the remote. If I was to get something like this -

and plug the Tacima into it, would I still get the benefit?
1.) While Im discussing mains, I'll be building my own house in a few years and hope to build in a home cinema room. To get the best out of my equipment am I right in thinking that I should have one complete circuit put aside for the home cinema gear. I could run something like the following electrical cable from consumer unit to the various plugs in room -

2.) Would there be any benefits in having more than one circuit?
3.) What are the benefits of having unswitched plugs?
4.) Again, I'd still like to save the standby power. Is there anything I could do in that instance or will I just have to pull out the plugs? May it not even be an issue if I am right in thinking they are going to ban standby in appliances?
