When you say offered can you audition? Not much point otherwise as people's opinion will be based on their set-up and room.

However, more information about what equipment you intend using them with, room size etc might help but will not be conclusive.

I had a pair of these for a while and really liked them; to the point where when I was looking for speakers a couple of weeks ago I had regretted selling them. They have been replaced by the Silver 50's which I demo'd a few weeks ago along with the Dynaudio M10's. The Dynaudio's were miles better than the Silver 50's but I suspect it would have been a more even contest with the Silver 1's.

They have prodigious bass for such a small speaker and the MA tweeter has many plaudits. However, as others have said, never ever ever buy speakers without hearing them or, at very least, ensuring you can send them back if you don't like them.

I'm not a big fan for the music I listen to. Depends on the price really. If offered means they're free sure. But if it's not a good deal I'd personally look elsewhere. But that's for my music taste. You may find them perfectly capable.
