Morning all

I've just managed to buy the above system at a lucky find price. This will now go with my samsung 46 inch 7000 Tv and PS3. you'll note there is a hole where my amp should be.Unfortunately i've not been able to audition the system as I'm out of the country at the mo, but couldn't pass up on such a good deal. So to ask all you wonderful folk out there,

what amp will work well with speakers?

The room its going in is 4m by 5m, I'm not fussed at present about being super loud (have to think of the neighbours!) but sound detail is important. Budget somewhere upto £800.

looking forward to any ideas, thanks all

I have the same speaker set as yourself and am using a Sony 2400es and i'm very happy with the results.

I have thought about changing to a Yamaha amp but not sure how much i'd gain.

David,

Would the 3900 or the Z7 be a good match for these speakers? If I'm going to change I want an amp with 2 HDMI outputs as I would use the 2nd output to feed my TV in the bedroom.

I've said many times that speakers like amplification. Regardless of the speakers are, they will respond to more power and better quality. As an example, KEF's KHT3005se's sound fine on a £400/500 AV amp/receiver, but stick a £1,000/1,500 ampreceiver on the end of them and they're almost a different package.

The Monitor Audio Radius packages, especially those based around the R270HD's, will also benefit from better amplification. And I have no doubt that the DSPZ7's better power delivery will get the best from the package.

Monitor Audio Radius pair best with Yamaha receivers. But definitely audition both the Yamaha & the Denon, & make a decision. I have auditioned your speaker setup. I loved the Yamaha RX-V1900 & RX-V3900 with the speakers.

I would recommend the RX-V3900 over the RX-V2065, as it's currently available at a bargain price.

You may struggle to hear those amps all in one place now. The 1900 has been discontinued for a while now, so not many dealers will have any left, if any at all. The 3900 has now gone too, so again, you'll need to find a dealer who has one on demo, although you'll find one of these easier than a 1900. We cleared our 3900's a while ago now, in anticipation of new models.

subseastuWhats the difference between these - AV 12 - and Monitor Audio Radius R270HD 10?
And what was the price and where did you get your good deal from; I'm looking to get a set if I can get them at the right price?

Quick answer appreciated if you could!
