Monitor Audio + Onkyo?

Hello.

Im soon going to get my first hifi-system and have been looking at some Monitor Audio Bronze serie and a Onkyo 616

How would these sound together and would the 616 be overkill for this setup:
Front: 2 x BX2
Back: 2 x BXFX
BX Centre
BXW10 Sub

No, the 616 wouldn't be overkill, it'll all work fine together. The Bronze system will improve if you decide to upgrade the 616 in the future - I've found that the Bronze package sounds even better with £1500-2000 AV receivers.

I have a MA BR based Onkyo 805 setup, all sounds nice to me. It sounds detailed for movies, and the pure audio mode warms things up a bit for music listening duties. Not sure about the BX, but with the BR series the sub was a bit of a let down. Is the BX sub any good?

Ok not sure if im getting the 717 cause there is a huge price different but im gonna listen to some bass music (or how your gonna call it) how is the onkyo with that?

I'll recommend that you also consider Yamaha's AV amplification such as their new RX-V673 & RX-V773 or if budget allows the excellent Aventage RX-A810 & RX-A1010 models.

In my experience Yamaha AV amplification + Monitor Audio speakers form a great match (time after time) with music or movie soundtracks 🙂

Btw, what speaker cables have you also considered?

The place im buying it from the V773 and A810 almost cost the same so what is best?

Just my 2 cents, I have the 818 and RX6, and its....... :dance:

Only problem is the remote wont turn on the amp after a long period of time, onkyo are aware, and looking into it, but there is a way of solving the issue, so nothing urgents right now.
