Put simply i have bought an AW12 subwoofer and am already considering upgrading to a Velodyne SPL800 Ultra on the reccomendation of a dealer, so my question is with my existing setup of speakers(all listed below) should i bother to change my sub as i does match my other speakers and does (to me) sound very very good especially with films. i got that little voice in my head now after speaking to the dealer as to whether i was too hasty in settling for the Monitor Audio Apex/HD range in the first place. But as i said it does all sound vry good and my room is only 4.2m x 5.4m with 2.35m ceiling height......so what do y'all reckon??

Put it simply, it appears that the dealer is trying to earn a profit here. You've already got an excellent subwoofer. I've got a similar setup as yours. Even you say that you're happy with it. You haven't had the subwoofer for more than a year (because the subwoofer was launched only last year). I see no reason for you to change it.

You have too much money. Why don't you donate some to charity?

You could start with the "Help Prime Cuts buy a new Porsche 918 Spyder Fund"

thanks for all the replies especially big boss cheers dude, i know the sub i have is great and certainly gives soom kick when watching films but i suppose i just needed to hear from others that what i have chosen is a good selection of speakers and AV equipment, cheers dudes. I have also just invested in an extra R225HD to go as side speaker with my existing R225HD on other side and upgrading to a R250HD centre, should be interesting how that all works out with the R180HD's as rear surround...full 7.1 oh yeah baby!!

And yes i probably do have more money than sense especially when it comes to investing in new stuff but what i got i worked hard for...sort of, lol

Out of interest grazza, what do you have the crossover set to for your sub? May I suggest you trying setting all your speakers to small on your Yamaha and having the crossover set to 90-100hz. This would really get your sub working with your speakers.

i have the crossover set to 80Hz and all speakers are set to small, my mate suggested i raise the crossover to around the 100Hz mark aswell but all advice in the past has said 80Hz is perfect. On reflection when i carry out the auto setup with the mic thingy plugged into amp it does set the crossover higher but i always have put it back to 80Hz maybe the amp knows best ?!?

New speakers should be with me on monday so will be interesting to see if they have been a good investment or just a waste of my buckaroonies, also bought chord active 1.3b HDMI to the disgust of my mates cos each cable is £85 but i think if you gonna do sumting you gotta do it properly and to the best of your.....wallet lol

Me and your mate are right! I have my RS6s set to 80 and they will go deeper than your speakers, I have the RSLCR set to 90 and again it will dig deeper than the Radius and my R90s are set to 100. Give it a try at least.
