Hello,

I would like to purchase a new AV reciever for my room.

My current set up consists of my PC, Sky Box and Xbox all plugged into my TV.

My TV is a Samsung UE32ES6710 and has been reported to have problems with the Audio Output. Therefore I would like to purchase a small AV Receiver with maybe 2-3 HDMI

Can Anyone recommened a good AV reciever which does not take up too much room and comes with atleast 2 HDMI input ports and 1 HDMI Output?

Many thanks!

What's your budget, & which speakers are you planning to use?

Hello,

Many thanks for your reply. I have been on holiday for the last few days and didn't get the chance to respond.

I am not sure which speakers I am going with yet, although I have decided I would like to go with a 2.1 system (or sound bar) as oppose to a 5.1 surrond system. This is mainly because my PC is set up in the corner of my room and I don't really want speakers spaced out in each corner.

Some of the AV recievers you suggested do look pretty awesome and I may end up going with one of them. However, if I am only using a 2.1 system, is there anything smaller you could suggest with 2-3 HDMI ports? Maybe also slightly cheaper! :)

I currently have the following set up downstairs:

5.1 Q Acoustics 2000 Speakers

Onkyo TX-SR608 Amp

Cambridge Audio Azur 650BD

LG42LH5000 TV

So for the best movies in 1080p, I would normally go downstairs to watch.

Thanks for your time, any input would be great.

If it is just for a bedroom and there is an existing system downstairs why look at recievers at all?

For example:

Yamaha YHTS401, Fairly discrete, all the inputs that you would need and expandable to 5.1 if needed.

Q acoustics Qtv, a bit of an odd-ball, but if you can find one they are a great and almost invisble upgrade to TV audio. (we did them c.£300 but they have been battered by the internet(not saying where I work))

Denon DM39, they stuck an optical socket on the back, grab a decent set of standmounts (mercury V1/BX2) and use the Digital output on the TV.

Marantz MCR603, Can't explain how good this little guy is, again use the digi out of your Samsung and partner up with a solid set of stand mounts. If you put the '603 into it's Bi-amp configuration I would definitely recommend the Monitor Audio BX2's or Q 2020's as you will be familiar to how they sound.

Finally (and my own personal solution for my bedroom) The Teac AH01, brilliant DAC, great amp and I beleive the only of the mentioned products that uses a toroidal transformer. Runs an old set of B+W 603 s2's fine despite its fairly modest 25w output.

Hope these are food for thought.
