That's serious dough for a touchcreen 'tablet' which isn't quite as good as a real laptop until you add a keyboard at an (unspecified as yet) extra cost.

I think £799 or thereabouts. Well, it runs Windows 8 Pro full version, so closest yet to a laptop.

It's probably mainly aimed at enterprise / business users.

Must admit I am really liking Microsoft's approach with this: a tablet-style device that you really can use as a PC, running a PC OS, meaning that it's compatible with PC software.

not really as 899 dollars is 560 quid of our money. that's the same price as a 64gb ipad. Therefore I'd say it looks like an absolute steal for a full pc which you'll be able to use usb (dacs, external hard drives etc) on it and any other software you already may have for the pc (jriver etc).

However, usual rules apply so I expect the dollar sign to change to a pound sign by the time it gets to blighty Although, might be a good time to import 😀

in fairness though, if we're talking about the pro, not surprising given it's innards 😀
