Question Melomania p100 vs Sony XM4

I need to buy headphones as a present and I'm trying to choose between those two. XM4 is relatively old model but it is still widely recommended. P100 looks more niche. I guess things like portability, wired option and good handling of bass are key. Any advice?

I've not listened to either but I do have the XM5 and they are rather good. .

If tonal balance first before ANC, the P100. If ANC first, the XM4
