matching pairs of speakers?

Hi

I have just purchased a 'pair' of Tannoy Eyris 2 speakers: apparently a great bargain at £199 (originally £1000).

However, it turns out that each speaker has a very different serial number and different speaker terminals: not in itself a problem, but I am concerned that they might be different editions that also have acoustic differences.

The dealer said that they are not sold as matched pairs and that there should be no difference. They don't have any more, so the choice is to take them back or keep them.

While I am still getting used to the sound, and in any case they are only out the box a couple of days, nothing suggests to me that each has a different sound...

Anyone know about the model history of these, or have any other thoughts on this?

Worth giving Tannoy a ring?

How do they sound? If it was me and the sound was right it wouldn't worry me a bit. But I know there are some people that would be nagged by knowing that something wasn't quite right to the point that it would spoil their enjoyment.

Thanks Higs

I tried calling and emailing, but they are closed until the new year.
