I have some equipment at hand with which I did many tests and when ever the Marantz SR6006 preouts are used, there is a loud buzz from the speakers even when the SR6006 is put on standby. The buzz went away only few seconds after unplugging teh SR6006

Typical signal path is SR6006 Front preouts to Classe CP-800 (at the HT Bypass / unity gain input)

Did any one face a similar problem with Marantz preouts or any other AVR preouts? If yes is there a solution other sending the AVR for repair? Please let me know

PS: I even plugged the pre-outs directly into the power amp (CA-2100) and the loud buzz is still there. The preouts connections are RCA cables. Tried the same RCA cable from SSP-800 processor into the unity gain input of CP-800 and there is no hum

I know it is a bit silly to reply to your own thread but I found a succesful solution so thought will share

There are many possibilities to be tried but the simplest is to use a wire (even a speaker wire) to connect the chasis of marantz to CP-800

It did the trick! The loud hum is gone!!

If it did not work out then I would have tried ths galvanic noise isolation RCA cables.

I have no idea

I aussmed all these AVRs are built to best especially the ground loop part. Either there are not many people out there who use the Marantz Sr6006 with an external power amp or there is something strange in my set up (which I doubt as I have used the Classe SSP-800 RCA out to CP-800 and there was no buzz and both are powered from the same outlet as Marantz)

or worst my unit is faulty on the ground loop which seems very unlikely as everything else works as intended
