Hi guys,

Just baught Marantz PM6005 from Amazon and now I'm in a need of budget bookshelf speakers that will match the Marantz.

First of all, I used an old Onkyo A-9211 integrated amplifier with Morel bookshelf speakers (MLP-201).

The Morels are hard to drive, even though it says 92db on the label ...

I decided to buy a new amp and wondering which speakers will match the Marantz.

I listen mostly to electronic (The Prodigy, Masive Attack, 90's Eurohouse, etc.) and hip-hop but do enjoy metallica and nirvana every once in a while and my main source is Technics SL-1200MK2 turntable.

I do like lots of bass and lots of treble and not so much mid but again, when I do listen to rock or something more ambient music like Massive Attack / Tricky / Portishead (and I listen those like 33% of the time) I do need good midrange, not over the top, just good or very good.

Thanks in advance for all the help guys !

You could look at Focal Chorus 705 (Richer Sounds). If there isn't enough bass, you could look at a Sub like the BK Gemini.

How about :

Canton GLE 420 or Q Acoustics 2020i ?

Both I can buy for very low price ...

Are those any good ?
IMO The Q Acoustics are very good, but won't give you the sound that you describe in your first post. I have never heard a Canton speaker.
