Marantz/Dali sound problem

Hello

I am having some sound issues with my hi-fi system. It is a Marantz M-CR610 with Dali Zensor 1 speakers.

When playing CD's certain vocal words are being over emphasised with too much bass or loudly echoed. This will often be just one word in a song that is maybe shouted or is a more extreme note. If there is reverb/echo on a particular word then it gets echoed too loudly.

Any suggestions to fix this?

Thanks

Can you describe:

- What your speakers are placed on
- How close to the wall/corners they are
- If they are on a suspended wooden floor
- Whether your listening position is up against a wall

I have have the speakers on floor stands filled with kiln-dried sand. I have also had them on a wooden cabinet. The result is the same in both cases. I have them either side of the Marantz with a gap of about 20cm. They are about 30cm from the wall. My listening position is near a wall but not up against it.

I hate to say this but I spent days auditioning dali speakers and other equipment and that was the sound I heard. A boomy unrealistic sound. Maybe they were set up wrong but I had listened to them in three different shops and heard other speakers aswell which were a lot better for same money.

There maybe room for improvement by moving them around the room but it is unlikely you can change it dramatically.

I'm sorry but this is just my opinion and I know lots of people will disagree with me.
