Marantz 603 pre-out

Can the Marantz 603 be used as a pre-amp?

No: it doesn't have pre-out sockets, only fixed level aux out and a subwoofer connection.

I'm not immediately aware of any systems of this kind with preouts, but that's not to say there aren't any. What facilities do you want in such a unit?

Doesnt the Arcam Solo have pre-outs with the thoughts of adding a power amp

I know the Solo Mini doesnt...

Yes, it does, but it doesn't have streaming capability, so isn't really comparable: for that you need the Solo Neo, which also has preouts, but is much more expensive than the Marantz. I was also thinking Musical Fidelity M1 CLiC, which streams, has preouts and provides both analogue and digital inputs, but again it's rather more expensive than the Marantz and lacks a CD player.

Ok. DAB radio and AirPlay are musts. Pre-amp and/or Dac and/or Internet radio and/or FM are optional.
