Am going to buy an amp and cd player. Not looking to spend too much and probably going for same manufacturer for both components. I've narrowed my choice to the Marantz 6002 at £400 or the Cambridge Audio Azur 640 v2 at £550. Will be using these with a pair of B+W 685 speakers. Would it be worth spending the extra £150 for the Cambridge Audio, or am i just as well going for the 'What Hi-Fi Budget Choice' Marantz ? Any advise and opinions welcome. Cheers

Just googled the PM7001 and found it for £325 which brings the total for both to £525.

Cheers

Good call above, but seriously, try before you buy. You might really hate one and love the other. And if you're taling about gettiing from Richer sounds, the CA pair come with free CA S30 Speakers at that price.

Both are bright machines so not my cup of tea. Although I've owned Azur, it's fairly good quality, but for the Money I feel the Marantz is head and shoulders above the entry azur stuff.

I'd go for the Marantz and I actually prefer the cheaper 6002 amp to the 7001...especially when partnered with the CD 6002...
