Mac VS my HIFI

Im sure this has been asked before so here I go on with my question. I have a imac with external creative speakers with a head phone jack. When I listen with my cans Grado SR80's I get detail that my Parasound JC2 A21 Cyrus 8SE with PSX (cardas cables throughout) misses? So how can a $100 pair of desk top and 100 head phones beat up on a $18000 system for detail.

Headphones are generally a far better tool for hearing detail than speakers... I'm sure your speaker system has many sonic advantages over the Grado Rig (just not detail)...

Just as a pair of small monitors is generally better for imaging than a large floorstander, while a large floorstander is generally better for bass than a small monitor: It's best to pick the correct tool for the job you want performed...
