Have you tried using the foam bungs? Just plugged the holes in the back behind the tweeters and just smoothed out the harsh top end - sound much more open - think finally happy - for now!!!!!!!!

Port bungs are there to reduce the bass when the rear of the speakers are placed near to a wall. I'm surprised they have made the RS6's less bright.

on the rear of the rs8s there is port directly behind the tweeter - just seems to have removed a little bit of the shrill
