Hi,

I've just got a pair of B&W 685s and one of them has a loose thread loop in the yellow (kevlar?) cone - a bit like a pulled thread on a jumper.

What should I do about this? Cut it? Leave it alone?

Any advice much appreciated

Cheers,

Andrew

Are they new? If so, I'd take it up with the retailer or B&W if you're unhappy with this 'loose thread'

If they're used, then I'd suggest a call to B&W to ask what you should do, and whether it's a problem. I doubt it'll affect the sound at all, but I wouldn't go tackling it with knife or scissors.

Thanks Andrew - they are brand new out of the box - I just wasn't sure if I should be unhappy or if it was a common occurrence. I'll maybe contact B&W and find out.

Cheers,

Andrew

I've never heard of that before. Must have happened at the factory if they were like that out of the box. This is what happens when they switch manufacturing from the UK to Phinancialstan.

That has nothing to do with it.

Well it was only a guess. In that case I'm sure the tightly woven kevlar 'twitched' as it boarded the vessel or got sea-sick on its way.ÿ

Please, your suggestions?ÿ

Oh, I agree it must have happened in the factory. It was the rest of you statement I was querying.
