Hey everyone.

I'm hoping someone can give me some advise as all the salesmen I've spoken to have just tried to make me purchase equipment I don't need or want.

i am looking for an av receiver that has 6 hdmi in for my xbox 360, xbox one, ps3, ps4, PC, sky +HD but would also like an digital optical out so I don't have to get up & manually change the optical lead each time for my px51 headset. I've tried searching for receivers with optical out but no luck. I wouldn't mind having wireless wifi & AirPlay but these aren't essential.

thanks for any help...

Unfortunately no they don't. My budget is around 400 & I plan to use my Logitech speakers from my z5000 system.

I've just checked the manual for my Yamaha RX-A2010 receiver. On page 41, it states "You can connect video/audio recording devices to the AV OUT jacks. These jacks output video/audio signals selected as the input". Now, one of the AV OUT connections is a digital optical output, so that seems good!

But alas not, because the manual immediately goes on to warn "The AV OUT jacks cannot output video/audio signals (that are) input through the HDMI or COMPONENT VIDEO jacks." Your potential new receiver may differ from mine, but if the signal that you want to sent out via the Optical output jack is input to your receiver through one of the HDMI or COMPONENT VIDEO jacks, then the optical output may not work.

also looking for a new receiver i was looking at the Pioneer VSX-1123-K seems to have anything you need but its sound that counts really not what the ins and outs are, someone told me this was discontinued, is there a similar machine on the market or should i wait on the 2014 models and untill there are some tests/reviews. I have a budget of €600 but i can push this out a bit for the right machine. I will also be getting new speakers so im waiting untill i see what receiver i buy first so if there is also a recommendation on speakers greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks
